Pedro Martínez-Corbalán Romero
Martínez-Corbalán was born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in 1987 and graduated in Civil Engineering from ETSICCP in Santander. After finishing his degree, he continued his studies with a specialisation in maritime and coastal engineering, through a Master’s degree in Coastal and Port Engineering at the University of Cantabria through the IH Cantabria Foundation, a world reference in this field.
In 2013, he started his professional activity at a local engineering company in Las Palmas de GC, carrying out several projects related to the coastal and maritime field, such as beach regeneration, maritime infrastructure calculations, administrative concession projects on the coast, as well as other projects in other fields than marine engineering.
After almost two years of experience he decided to continue on his own together with a partner, where he was involved in several projects, mainly producing maritime climate, propagation and port agitation studies. During this period, he and his partner also developed the Meteoport tool, a system for wave forecasting inside ports to improve their operationality, which is currently marketed by Acosta Sub.
In 2016 he joined AcostaSub, where he continues to gain experience and apply his knowledge, developing various projects and studies. He is the technical director, coordinating multidisciplinary teams including engineers, biologists and professional divers.
